Sibling Support
The Sibling Support Project is a national effort dedicated to the life-long concerns of brothers and sisters of people who have special health, developmental, or mental health concerns.
An email from Don Meyer, Director, Sibling Support Project:
Dear SibNet friend,
I need your help. Specifically, I need your help to bring Sibshops to more young brothers and sisters everywhere.
As you may know, Sibshops are lively peer support programs for school age sibs. They supply the common-sense validation found on SibNet, but in a recreational, interactive environment. The most commonly heard comment from adult sibs upon encountering a Sibshop for the first time is “if only Sibshops had been around when I was a kid.”
There are over 320 Sibshops worldwide, and we’re proud of what we’ve accomplished with limited resources (I am essentially a one-guy national project dedicated to the concerns of 4.5 million sibs). But there are millions of young sibs who do not have access to Sibshops.
Will you help me arrange a Sibshop training in your state or province? Each training provides great bang for the buck/effort: One Sibshop training can result in the creation of as many as 15 new Sibshops. Trainings are also a great way for adult sibs to connect with other sibs in person, and a superb opportunity to educate parents and service providers about sibs’ life-long and ever-changing concerns.
If the cause of providing young sibs with validation, information, and support is something that speaks to you,

and I will do my best to provide you with details about the training and connect you with others in your state, province or country who share your interest.
Thank you, in advance, for considering this.
I look forward to hearing from you!
Best regards,
Don Meyer Director, Sibling Support Project A Kindering Center program 6512 23rd Ave NW, #322 Seattle, WA 98117 USA 206-297-6368
